Businesses involved in manufacturing, trading or importing photovoltaic (PV) modules may seek to ascertain the reliability and safety of their products through PV Module certification scheme and testing services.  SIRIM QAS International is providing the scheme to certify crystalline silicon terrestrial PV modules and thin-film terrestrial PV modules designed for application in terrestrial PV power generation systems.  An applicant is awarded a license once the product complies with the product standards and the manufacturer demonstrates a quality control system in ensuring a consistent and continuous compliance with the certification requirements. 

SIRIM QAS International also offering the PV testing, which ensures a PV module is robust and able to consistently deliver the guaranteed rated power reliably even under severe climatic conditions.  A PV module will be exposed to 15,000 Wh/m² of an ultraviolet.  The testing procedures are conducted based on IEC 61215 and IEC 61730.  The procedures are vital as it ensures that the products meet the quality and high-performance standards.
